Kansas City Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills, 2022

KANSAS CITY, On Sunday afternoon, the Buffalo Bills got the win at Arrowhead Stadium, what they were eagerly waiting for, beating Kansas City Chiefs by 24-20. The Buffalo Bills game and Kansas City Chiefs game were outstanding. The Buffalo Bills have won its first three wins out of four wins this season by an average margin of 30 points. Beating the KC Chiefs was a real challenge for the Bills.

25 points in the final 1 minute and 54 seconds are good. Four lead changes in that time span are good. The game becomes overtime good because of a 44-yard drive and 49-yard field goal all in 13 seconds. A combined seven passing touchdowns and more than 700 yards with no interceptions was good.

Kansas City and Buffalo Bills have a 4-1 record. However, for the first time, the Buffalo Bills open as the favourites to win the game in Kansas City.

In the last four matchups between the Bills and Chiefs, Kansas City won three duels against Buffalo, including the exciting playoff game where Patrick Mahomes needed 13 seconds to overturn the result.

Buffalo and Kansas are the two best teams in the AFC, and the winner might end the spot to host the rest of the playoff games at home.

Kansas City and Buffalo lost their only game in Week 3. Nevertheless, they were never surpassed by their rivals. Both the Chiefs and Bills lost because they never converted points in crucial offensive opportunities.

The Chiefs defeated the Arizona Cardinals, the San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Bills opened the season with a victory against the LA Rams, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

For a moment, it looked as if it could be the next heartbreak. The Kansas City Chiefs got the ball back after Knox’s touchdown with a lot of time left in the completion of the game. But after Mahomes misfired on first down, Buffalo cornerback Taron Johnson jumped his pass to Skyy Moore and picked him off with 51 seconds left. The Buffalo Bills favour the clock from that point.

“There were still some bad memories from this place last year,” Knox said, “so it was nice to wipe those from our minds.”

“It was a great battle. You love these games,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “You just don’t want to be sitting on this end of it. But you love the competition and the way the guys get after it.

There is no doubt that the Bills are the best team in the NFL. If the Buffalo Bills continue to make claims as the best team after the end of the season, then they have to play and win like this against the KC chiefs game.

“I’ve come to this stadium a whole bunch of times. Been at this same podium. But I ain’t have many smiles,” Miller said. “It just feels so good to go out there with my teammates, to work toward something like this and come out on top.”

“Nothing we did last year translates to what we’re doing this year,” Allen said with a shrug. “What happened in the past, that’s where it is. All we can do is focus on the next one. Today was the next one.”

The Buffalo Bill’s recent track record in close games is quite great. Things were not good for the Bills when we go back to the start of last season. Before, the Buffalo 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in week 4, they had lost seven straight one-score games.

Allen said he is proud of his team and how they battled tonight.

There was an urgent need for this win for the Bills, as it moved them to 5-1. This win kept them in sole possession of the first place in the AFC East. The Bills are now in head-to-head advantage when it comes to decisions regarding the AFC game that might be played in their stadium come late January.

The most astonishing moment of Sunday’s contest had to be Buffalo seeing its prized off-season acquisition, Miller pressurizing Mahomes to the point that the quarterback threw the game-clinching interception with less than a minute remaining.

This win didn’t erase the past memory of the Bills about late-game situation losses but it reveals that now the Buffalos are better equipped to handle late-game situations against opponents like Kansas Chiefs.

Buffalo’s remaining AFC East games are as follows:

  • Week 9, 11/6/22, at the Jets
  • Week 13, 12/1/22, at the Patriots (on Thursday Night Football)
  • Week 14, 12/11/22, hosting the Jets
  • Week 15, date TBD (12/17/22 or 12/18/22), hosting the Dolphins
  • Week 18, date TBD (1/7/23 or 1/8/23), hosting the Patriots

This Buffalo can clearly understand by this match of Kansas City Chief football, that championships don’t come easily. Championship requires to be earned the hard way, and winning like this requires a lot of practice.
