Russia launches airstrike with Kinzhals missile, which can fly atleast five times the speed of sound and very difficult to control or can say not possible to control at present.

On Thursday, Russia launched the most extensive aerial assault on Ukraine in weeks, with 81 missiles being discharged altogether. This included six hypersonic missiles – Kinzhals or Daggers – which the Ukrainian defense forces were unable to intercept.

According to Yuriy Ignat, spokesperson of Ukraine’s air force, the attack resulted in nine fatalities and the destruction of infrastructure and residential buildings in 10 areas. He reported that only 34 of the 81 missiles were successfully shot down.

It wasn’t until recently that Moscow unleashed so many Kinzhals against Kyiv. Reports indicate that the Russian military first used the hypersonic missile, one of their more advanced weapons, in March 2022 when it destroyed a missile and aviation ammunition storage in Deliatyn, a village in Ivano-Frankivsk, western Ukraine.
